The old Cornish stone walls are from two to three feet thick and have traditional slate roofs. The courtyard provides a pleasant suntrap and an al-fresco breakfast or evening drink can be enjoyed at one of the slate tables.
Courtyard Farm and four of the cottages have views overlooking the Valency Valley and the sea in the distance.
To the side of the courtyard are a barbecue and picnic tables, with a play area for the children. There is a games room complete with table tennis, pool table and for adults, a full size snooker table.
The valley and the coastline offer many scenic walks, including the Cornish Coastal Path.
From Courtyard Farm is a long winding lane, named Sylvan by Sir John Betjeman, that leads to Boscastle. The lane has a picturesque stream at its side, flowing down to join the river.
Boscastle is an unusually sheltered harbour owned by the National Trust with spectacular cliff walks. You will be able to stroll along the quayside, visit interesting shops, or take time out to sample a Cornish Cream Tea or drink at one of the local inns. The Napoleon Inn is situated at the top of the village, near the end of the lane. The Cobweb Inn and The Wellington Hotel are near the harbour.
All cottages are non-smoking, tourist board graded four star and are equipped with dvd_players, colour TV-video, microwave, ironing board and iron. We supply bed linen, towels and tea towels. Logs, locally produced ice cream and our own free range eggs are available for purchase. Next to the farmhouse are books, magazines, games and a laundry with washing machine and drier.
