A Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), it offers a chance to see wonderful bird life, otters, red squirrels in abundance, pheasant, partridge and roe deer. Located on the River Eden. Respectful use will allow you to enjoy this classic sporting estate.

Extensive gardens include a bluebell wood, ancient avenues of beech trees, spectacular rhododendrons, daffodils, snowdrops and a two acre walled garden with newly planted herbaceous borders.

The East Wing is a most comfortable apartment for 8 plus a few little people. There are four luxurious double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. All four bedrooms are big enough to easily fit a cot or junior bed.

There are two sitting rooms, both nicely appointed. One has a good big telly, a DVD, VCR, CD player, radio and satellite TV. The smaller sitting room has no TV – perfect to retreat to for peace and quiet and good conversation!

You’ll find books, games, and toys. Our film lover’s video collection is pretty special, and you’ll have access to that too. After a day in the fresh air, you won’t need to leave home for a lively evening with friends and family.

The East Wing is perfect for a house party. Together with the River and Garden Suites you could sleep up to 12 adults plus cots and junior beds. East Wing - Kitchen

The kitchen/dining room is a big easy room - full of light - with a fabulous view across the river. We’ve been told “it’s a dream to cook in – you’ve thought of everything”. We do try! If you’re planning a big get together, the dining table will seat up to 14.

You’ll also find the fridge/freezer big enough – and plenty of china, mugs & glasses.
