They are an ideal base from which to explore South Cumbria and the Lake District and each holiday cottage is decorated to the highest standard. All our self catering holidays in the Lake District Cumbria have full central heating and either a wood burning stove or an open fire. Pets are welcome for a small supplement, as are children of any age! We can provide cots, high chairs and stair gates.

The holiday cottages are set in the beautiful unspoilt landscape overlooking the Duddon Estuary between the market towns of Ulverston and Broughton-in-Furness. If you want to take part in Lakeland activities, Coniston is 20 minutes drive, while Windermere is just 25 minutes away. Only three miles away are the remains of stone hut circles dating from the bronze age, close to a tarn where the seagulls nest in spring.

Ashlack is a working farm and in April and May the fields are littered with lambs and calves and also a few foals. It is a perfect place for children to explore the woods, rivers, meadowland and the coast. (see also Local Areas). Equally, a perfect place for a really peaceful 'get-away-from-it-all' holiday.

The main house, Ashlack Hall, from where the estate is run, has a very large vegetable garden which provides organic produce throughout the summer months. We will provide you with delicious new potatoes, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes and raspberries, for example.

All our self catering holidays in the Lake District Cumbria have been recently renovated and are inspected annually by the English Tourist Board. They are all graded 4 star. We are also a member of CALSCA.
